WR WEBSITE IN TRANSFORMED LOOK
Redesigned user friendly website launched today by GM/WR
Western Railway has launched its website in a transformed look with several user friendly features. The new website with crispy pages with better look and feel was launched on 28th January, 2011 by Shri R.N. Verma, General Manager, Western Railway.
The new website of Western Railway, www.wr.indianrailways.gov.in is informative and useful for passengers, customers and suppliers/vendors of Western Railway. It provides links for PNR enquiry, train schedule, accommodation availability, train between stations etc for better travel planning for passengers. For history enthusiast, there is a section of Heritage Gallery, History of WR etc. Information about various departments and divisions of WR is also placed on website for reference. Under passenger services view the rules and procedures such as reservation rules, tatkal rules, procedure for booking special trains etc are available.
Latest developments and information is made available under News & Announcement column while WR’s House Journal ‘Rail Darpan’ is available in downloadable format.
Tenders released on WR are available on website under Tender section in downloadable format. Registered vendors can remain updated through this section. Even auto emails are sent to vendors in event of corrigendum.
The website is available in Hindi also with Unicode fonts thereby doing away with the cumbersome procedure of fonts download by the user.
Western Railway was pioneer on Indian Railways in launching its own website and now it has redesigned its website to meet the changing needs of its customers and public and to make maximum information available on line.
