To handle the major problem of shortage of coins at ticket booking counters suitably, Western Railway has cleared a proposal for enhancement of floating cash imprest used as change for Booking and Reservation Counters by five times.This will be implemented within a week all over Western Railway.
As per a recent decision, now the imprest amount for Booking and reservation counters at all suburban and mainline stations on Western Railway will now be Rs. 500 per counter instead of existing Rs. 100/-.This decision will facilitate Booking Clerks as well as Commuters.
This decision has been taken in view of problem of loose change at booking counters.It will help considerably in overcoming the shortage of coins at the booking counters.With the enhanced limit of floating cash of the counters, the booking staff as well as the commuters will be benefitted as it will reduce any type of hassle between a booking clerk and the commuter on account of shortage of loose coins at the counters.
Western Railway still urges its commuters to carry loose change at the Railway Booking Counters as far as possible.
