Ministry of Railways has decided that Complimentary Card passes issued to sports-persons who are Arjuna Awardees shall henceforth be valid for travel in 2nd AC/3rd AC in Rajdhani trains and Chair Car in Shatabdi trains besides being valid for travel in 1st Class/2nd AC in other Mail/Express trains (except Duronto trains). The companion allowed at the age of 65 years shall also be entitled to travel in the same Class along with Arjuna Awardees in Rajdhani/ Shatabdi trains.
This travel facility by Rajdhani/Shatabdi trains shall be admissible only to Arjuna Awardees and not to other sports-persons viz Olympic Medalists, Gold Medalists in Asia or Commonwealth Games or Dronacharya Awardees who will continue to remain entitled with Complimentary Card passes for life-long free rail travel in 1st Class/2nd AC over all Indian Railways (except Metro Railway/Kolkata) by any train other than Rajdhani/Shatabdi trains.
